Paul Prenty
Xline Account Manager
"I'm a great believer in developing relationships with customers for the mutual benefit of both GenetiQ and the client."
How long have you been a part of the GenetiQ team?
I've been a fixture since 2005.
Tell us about your role at GenetiQ…
I’m an Account Manager for GenetiQ Xline. I work proactively and reactively with customers to drive the software forward. Basically, I try to make sense of it all in an ever-changing world!
Most-used productivity hack?
I'm not really a hacker. I find that a phone call is the best way to move something forward with customers when the issue is important.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The interactions between colleagues and customers to get something done. The tricks and tips that customers can provide. Knowing that GenetiQ Xline is in a unique space - where it helps our customers drive their business forward - means what we do matters deeply to our customers.
A colleague is buying you lunch - what are you having?
Two lunches.
How do you make our customers' lives easier?
Getting the things that matter to the customer done in a timely fashion, and hopefully introducing new and better ways to do it. Basically, picking up the phone when a customer needs a call. I'm a great believer in developing relationships with customers for the mutual benefit of both GenetiQ and the client.
Favourite place to travel?
I've lived abroad, seen the highest mountains, all the glorious cities, the tallest buildings and the deepest seas, met princes and paupers, drank the finest of wines, fallen in and out of love, but nothing beats the pull of my home sweet home.
Dream dinner guests - who are they?
An old pal of mine who left this world too early.
Diego Maradona, the purest footballer who ever lived and whose career was exceptional.
Martin Scorsese, I love gangster movies.
And what do you like to do outside of work?
Coaching football to kids. It's so rewarding.
I love buying stocks and shares, losing mostly, but it's the hope that kills me. Next year, Del Boy, I'll be a millionaire.
Bad at golf.
