Celuplast has come a long way since its beginnings in 1988 as a single-site building and plastics distributor in Dublin. Now operating as a growing multi-brand, multi-geography business across Ireland and the UK, the family-founded company is investing in GenetiQ’s cloud-native ERP solution to support the next stage of its growth journey.
Following significant growth over the last 10 years, Celuplast has reached a stage where its long-standing system needed to evolve with the scale, pace and ambition of the business.
“As the business grew, the system was no longer keeping pace. We needed a partner that could support us in the same way, while giving us the technology, information and adaptability to run the business the way it needs to be run today,” said Stephen O’Brien, CEO of Celuplast.
After more than three decades with its previous system, the business needed a flexible platform that could support future growth, backed by a team that understood its industry and could give people across the company confidence in the move.
“GenetiQ understood our industry, understood our business, and were providing a system that specifically helped us,” said Helen Martin, Project Manager at Celuplast.
The move to a cloud-native, browser-based platform was a major factor in Celuplast’s decision. With teams across multiple sites in Ireland and the UK, GenetiQ Cloud gives the business a flexible foundation for growth of the business.
Celuplast was drawn to GenetiQ Cloud’s reporting, business intelligence and integration capabilities. Live information across departments, self-service reports and clearer business metrics will help the team make decisions with greater confidence, while REST API capability gives the business room to connect new systems as future needs emerge.
“There’s real excitement internally about what the system will allow us to do,”said Helen Martin. “Many of our processes are still manual, so stronger audit trails, improved processes and better reporting will make a real difference to the team and our customer’s experience.
For GenetiQ, the partnership reflects the role its modern cloud-native ERP platform can play in helping ambitious businesses move forward with confidence.
“Celuplast has a strong heritage, ambitious growth plans and a clear focus on their people and customers. Our role is to help them move forward with a modern platform, a strong implementation approach and industry understanding,” said Darren Gray, Head of Enterprise Sales Ireland at GenetiQ.
Beyond the technology, Celuplast sees the project as the start of a long-term partnership with GenetiQ.
“What stood out with GenetiQ was the accessibility of the decision-makers. The team has been responsive throughout, and that will be a genuine long-term partnership that evolves with the business,” said Stephen O’Brien.
With GenetiQ Cloud in place, Celuplast is building a modern operational foundation for its next chapter, giving the business the visibility, flexibility and confidence to keep growing across Ireland and the UK.
